Compliance

Required as indicated, unless accomplished previously. To prevent fuel migration under conditions of acceleration and/or climb, which could result in the airplane exceeding the aft center of gravity limit, and consequent loss of control of the airplane, accomplish the following: Airplane Flight Manual Revision (a) Within 5 days after the effective date of this AD, revise the Limitations and Abnormal Procedures Sections of the Canadair Challenger CL-604 Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) PSP-604-1, by inserting a copy of Canadair Challenger Temporary Revision (TR) No. 604/13, dated February 1, 2001, into the AFM. (b) When the information in TR No. 604/13, dated February 1, 2001, has been incorporated into the FAA-approved general revisions of the AFM, the general revisions may be inserted in the AFM, and the TR may be removed from the AFM. Alternative Methods of Compliance (c) An alternative method of compliance or adjustment of the compliance time that provides an acceptable level of safety may be used if approved by the Manager, New York Aircraft Certification Office (ACO). Operators shall submit their requests through an appropriate FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector, who may add comments and then send it to the Manager, New York ACO. Note 1: Information concerning the existence of approved alternative methods of compliance with this AD, if any, may be obtained from the New York ACO. Note 2: The subject of this AD is addressed in Canadian airworthiness directive CF-2001-07, dated February 2, 2001. Incorporation by Reference (d) The AFM revision shall be done in accordance with Canadair Challenger Temporary Revision No. 604/13, dated February 1, 2001. This incorporation by reference was approved by the Director of the Federal Register in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 552(a) and 1 CFR part 51. Copies may be obtained from Bombardier, Inc., Canadair, Aerospace Group, P.O. Box 6087, Station Centre-ville, Montreal, Quebec H3C 3G9, Canada. Copies may be inspected at the FAA, Transport Airplane Directorate, 1601 Lind Avenue, SW., Renton, Washington; or at the FAA, New York Aircraft Certification Office, 10 Fifth Street, Third Floor, Valley Stream, New York; or at the Office of the Federal Register, 800 North Capitol Street, NW., suite 700, Washington, DC.
