AD 2001-14-16 Airworthiness Directives; Gulfstream Model G-V Series Airplanes
Models named: G-V series. Read the applicability below — it usually turns on serial or part numbers too.
Applicability*9
Model G-V series airplanes, serial numbers 501 and subsequent, certificated in any category. Note 1: This AD applies to each airplane identified in the preceding applicability provision, regardless of whether it has been modified, altered, or repaired in the area subject to the requirements of this AD. For airplanes that have been modified, altered, or repaired so that the performance of the requirements of this AD is affected, the owner/operator must request approval for an alternative method of compliance in accordance with paragraph (c) of this AD. The request should include an assessment of the effect of the modification, alteration, or repair on the unsafe condition addressed by this AD; and, if the unsafe condition has not been eliminated, the request should include specific proposed actions to address it.
Compliance
Required as indicated, unless accomplished previously. To prevent loss of nose wheel steering control, without a corresponding alert message annunciation, due to the effects of moisture intrusion into the rotary variable displacement transducer (RVDT) inside the steering actuator, which could result in the airplane departing the runway if an over steering condition were to occur during landing, accomplish the following: Repetitive Replacement (a) Replace the nose wheel steering actuator, part number (P/N) 1159SCL500-41 Rev. D, with a new or restored actuator having the same part number, per Gulfstream V Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-10-00, dated September 15, 2000; at the later of the times specified in paragraphs (a)(1) and (a)(2) of this AD. Repeat this replacement thereafter every 450 flight hours or 12 months, whichever occurs first. (1) Within 450 flight hours or 12 months after replacing the nose wheel steering actuator, P/N 1159SCL500-41 Rev. D, with a new or restored actuator having the same part number, whichever occurs first. (2) Within 30 days after the effective date of this AD. Optional Terminating Action (b) Replacement of all nose wheel steering actuators with new improved actuators having P/N 1159SCL500-51, per Gulfstream V Maintenance Manual Chapter 05-10-00, dated April 30, 2001, constitutes terminating action for the repetitive replacement requirements specified in paragraph (a) of this AD. Alternative Methods of Compliance (c) An alternative method of compliance or adjustment of the compliance time that provides an acceptable level of safety may be used if approved by the Manager, Atlanta Aircraft Certification Office (ACO), FAA. Operators shall submit their requests through an appropriate FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector, who may add comments and then send it to the Manager, Atlanta ACO. Note 2: Information concerning the existence of approved alternative methods of compliance with this AD, if any, may be obtained from the Atlanta ACO. Special Flight Permit (d) Special flight permits may be issued in accordance with sections 21.197 and 21.199 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR 21.197 and 21.199) to operate the airplane to a location where the requirements of this AD can be accomplished. (e) This amendment becomes effective on August 21, 2001. Issued in Renton, Washington, on July 10, 2001. Donald L. Riggin, Acting Manager, Transport Airplane Directorate, Aircraft Certification Service. [FR Doc. 01-17758 Filed 7-16-01; 8:45 am] BILLING CODE 4910-13-U

You just looked this one up by hand
TrackAD holds all 12,278 of them and matches them against the aircraft you actually look after — airframe, engine, propeller and appliances in one pass — then works out what falls due and when.
- Bring your existing list in from a spreadsheet Paste the rows straight out of Excel. Headers like C/W Date and N/A are read for you.
- A copy that works when this does not One file. No internet, no login, no this software running. For the morning something has to be produced and the computer is not cooperating.
- $5 a month, or $50 a year Up to 50 aircraft on either.
