Applicability*9

This AD applies to all Bombardier, Inc., Model BD-700-1A10 and BD-700-1A11 airplanes, certificated in any category.

Compliance

Comply with this AD within the compliance times specified, unless already done.

Required actions

Within 30 days after the effective date of this AD, revise the Limitations section of the existing AFM to include the information specified in figure 1 to paragraph (g) of this AD. Figure 1 to paragraph (g) — MMEL Restriction ER24FE23.104

Unsafe condition

This AD was prompted by the determination that radio altimeters cannot be relied upon to perform their intended function if they experience interference from wireless broadband operations in the 3.7-3.98 GHz frequency band (5G C-Band), and a recent determination that this interference can result in unavailable or misleading radio altimeter information, adversely affecting the performance of the automatic flight control system (AFCS) and resulting in increased flightcrew workload during takeoff, approach, and landing below 400 feet above ground level. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the resulting effects on the performance of the AFCS. The unsafe condition, if not addressed, could result in increased flightcrew workload and adversely affect the safe operation of the airplane.

Affected ADs

None.
