Unsafe condition

This AD was prompted by a report of several missing or broken high pressure valve (HPV) butterfly clips found in a repair shop. The FAA is issuing this AD to address failure of an HPV butterfly clip, which may remain latent and lead to secondary effects ( e.g., bleed leak or overheat conditions) and degradation of the valve sealing function. The unsafe condition, if not addressed, could result in the inability to properly isolate the bleed system when required, uncontrolled hot air leakage, overheating of critical airplane structures and components, and degradation of structural integrity.
