AD 97-21-16 Airworthiness Directives; Dassault Model Mystere-Falcon 50 Series Airplanes
Models named: Mystere-Falcon 50 series. Read the applicability below — it usually turns on serial or part numbers too.
Applicability*9
Model Mystere-Falcon 50 series airplanes, serial numbers 251, 253, and subsequent, equipped with Allied-Signal TFE- 731-40 engines; certificated in any category. Note 1: This AD applies to each airplane identified in the preceding applicability provision, regardless of whether it has been modified, altered, or repaired in the area subject to the requirements of this AD. For airplanes that have been modified, altered, or repaired so that the performance of the requirements of this AD is affected, the owner/operator must request approval for an alternative method of compliance in accordance with paragraph (b) of this AD. The request should include an assessment of the effect of the modification, alteration, or repair on the unsafe condition addressed by this AD; and, if the unsafe condition has not been eliminated, the request should include specific proposed actions to address it.
Compliance
Required as indicated, unless accomplished previously. To prevent in-flight shutdown of the engine(s) due to the flightcrew using erroneous N1 speed values displayed on the Engine Indication Electronic Display (EIED), accomplish the following: (a) Within 1 day after the effective date of this AD, revise the Limitations Section of the FAA-approved Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) to add the following. This may be accomplished by inserting a copy of this AD in the AFM. ``Operation in Icing Conditions: The N1 speed of the operating engines must not be less than the minimum values specified in Normal Section 4, Sub-section 140, Page 2, of the AFM.'' (b) An alternative method of compliance or adjustment of the compliance time that provides an acceptable level of safety may be used if approved by the Manager, International Branch, ANM-116, Transport Airplane Directorate. Operators shall submit their requests through an appropriate FAA Principal Operations Inspector, who may add comments and then send it to the Manager, International Branch, ANM-116. Note 2: Information concerning the existence of approved alternative methods of compliance with this AD, if any, may be obtained from the International Branch, ANM-116. (c) Special flight permits may be issued in accordance with sections 21.197 and 21.199 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR 21.197 and 21.199) to operate the airplane to a location where the requirements of this AD can be accomplished. Note 3: The subject of this AD is addressed in French telegraphic airworthiness directive No. T 97-310-019 (B), dated October 10, 1997. (d) This amendment becomes effective on November 18, 1997, to all persons except those persons to whom it was made immediately effective by emergency AD 97-21-16, issued October 14, 1997, which contained the requirements of this amendment. Issued in Renton, Washington, on November 5, 1997. Darrell M. Pederson, Acting Manager, Transport Airplane Directorate, Aircraft Certification Service. You just looked this one up by hand
TrackAD holds all 12,278 of them and matches them against the aircraft you actually look after — airframe, engine, propeller and appliances in one pass — then works out what falls due and when.
- Bring your existing list in from a spreadsheet Paste the rows straight out of Excel. Headers like C/W Date and N/A are read for you.
- A copy that works when this does not One file. No internet, no login, no this software running. For the morning something has to be produced and the computer is not cooperating.
- $5 a month, or $50 a year Up to 50 aircraft on either.
