Applicability*9
All Model SD3-SHERPA, SD3-60 SHERPA, SD3-30, and SD3-60 series airplanes, certificated in any category. Note 1: This AD applies to each airplane identified in the preceding applicability provision, regardless of whether it has been modified, altered, or repaired in the area subject to the requirements of this AD. For airplanes that have been modified, altered, or repaired so that the performance of the requirements of this AD is affected, the owner/operator must request approval for an alternative method of compliance in accordance with paragraph (b) of this AD. The request should include an assessment of the effect of the modification, alteration, or repair on the unsafe condition addressed by this AD; and, if the unsafe condition has not been eliminated, the request should include specific proposed actions to address it.
Compliance
Required as indicated, unless accomplished previously. To prevent reduced movement of the elevator controls and consequent reduced controllability of the airplane, as a result of bolts coming loose on the elevator control torque tube bearing housing retaining plate, accomplish the following: Replacement (a) Within 6 months after the effective date of this AD, replace the existing bolts of the elevator control torque tube bearing housing retaining plate with hex head bolts torqued to a value of 35 lb-ins, in accordance with Shorts Service Bulletins SD3 Sherpa-27-3, Revision 1, dated November 23, 1998 (for Model SD3-SHERPA series airplanes); SD3-60 Sherpa-27-3, Revision 1, dated November 23, 1998 (for Model SD3-60 SHERPA series airplanes); SD330-27-37, Revision 1, dated November 23, 1998 (for Model SD3-30 series airplanes); or SD360-27-28, Revision 1, dated November 23, 1998 (for Model SD3-60 series airplanes); as applicable. Alternative Method of Compliance (b) An alternative method of compliance or adjustment of the compliance time that provides an acceptable level of safety may be used if approved by the Manager, International Branch, ANM-116, FAA, Transport Airplane Directorate. Operators shall submit their requests through an appropriate FAA Principal Maintenance Inspector, who may add comments and then send it to the Manager, International Branch, ANM-116. Note 2: Information concerning the existence of approved alternative methods of compliance with this AD, if any, may be obtained from the International Branch, ANM-116. You just looked this one up by hand
TrackAD holds all 12,278 of them and matches them against the aircraft you actually look after — airframe, engine, propeller and appliances in one pass — then works out what falls due and when.
- Bring your existing list in from a spreadsheet Paste the rows straight out of Excel. Headers like C/W Date and N/A are read for you.
- A copy that works when this does not One file. No internet, no login, no this software running. For the morning something has to be produced and the computer is not cooperating.
